Location data
PitStopPal requests access to your device's location while you are using the app. We use this to show you nearby gas stations, truck stops, and rest stops on the map. We do not collect your location in the background and we do not store your location history on our servers.
Account information
You can use PitStopPal without creating an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google (Android), we receive a unique identifier and optionally your display name. We store your display name so your reviews are attributed to you.
Reviews and ratings
When you submit a bathroom rating or review, we store the star rating, optional text notes, and any tags you select. Reviews are associated with your account and are visible to other users.
Saved locations
If you save a location to your favorites, we store that association in our database so it syncs across your devices when you are signed in.
Anonymous sessions
If you use the app without signing in, we create an anonymous session identifier to allow the app to function. This identifier is not linked to your identity.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Supabase
We use Supabase to store app data including locations, ratings, and user accounts. Supabase is hosted on AWS infrastructure. You can read Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Foursquare Places API
We use the Foursquare Places API to discover nearby gas stations, truck stops, and rest stops. When you search for nearby locations, your approximate coordinates are sent to Foursquare to retrieve results. We do not share your account information with Foursquare. Apple Sign In
If you sign in with Apple on iOS, your sign-in is handled by Apple. We receive only a unique identifier and optionally your name. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Google Sign In
If you sign in with Google on Android, your sign-in is handled by Google. We receive only a unique identifier and optionally your display name. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your account data, reviews, and saved locations are retained as long as your account exists. If you sign out and clear your session, your anonymous session data is no longer accessible from your device. To request permanent deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@pitstoppal.net.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers. The only third parties we share data with are the service providers listed above (Supabase, Foursquare, Apple, Google), and only to the extent necessary to operate the app.
PitStopPal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@pitstoppal.net and we will delete it promptly.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in a secured database with row-level security policies that restrict access to your own data. Sign-in is handled entirely by Apple and Google — we never see or store your password.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
